DROP 300: Monthly Allocated Bourbon Release
Durham County ABC is updating its monthly allocated bourbon release to reflect current product availability.
Beginning in summer 2026, weekly 100-bottle drops were replaced by a larger monthly release held at one Durham County ABC store. Going forward, this monthly event will be known as DROP 300, featuring 300+ allocated bottles at one location.
Some highly sought-after selections are currently affected by temporary changes in statewide availability and may not be included in upcoming drops. Products and quantities will vary each month based on the inventory available to Durham County ABC.
DROP 300 is designed to make allocated releases more accessible, more exciting and easier for customers to understand.
How DROP 300 Works
- DROP 300 will take place once each month.
- Each release will feature 300+ allocated bottles.
- Each event will be held at one Durham County ABC store.
- The date, location and available product information will be announced by Durham County ABC.
- Products and quantities will vary based on availability.
- All bottles are available only while supplies last.
- Limit: one allocated bottle per person, per day.
Specific brands and products are not guaranteed for any DROP 300 event.
Rules
No Hiding. No Holding. No Hogging.
To ensure a fair opportunity for all customers:
- Bottles may not be hidden for later purchase.
- Bottles may not be held for customers or employees.
- Customers may not hold or control multiple bottles at one time to prevent others from purchasing them.
- Customers may not purchase allocated bottles on behalf of others.
- Each customer may purchase only one allocated bottle per day.
- Unauthorized resale or exchange of alcoholic beverages is prohibited.
- All customers must follow store staff instructions.
- All customers must follow applicable parking, traffic and safety laws.
Please do not call Durham County ABC stores or the Administrative Office requesting early information. Staff will not have additional details beyond what Durham County ABC has publicly announced.
Employee Participation
Durham County ABC employees may participate in DROP 300 events under the following conditions:
- Employees may not purchase a bottle from the store where they work.
- Employees must be off the clock when making a purchase.
- Employees must be out of uniform when making a purchase.
- Administrative Office employees are not eligible to purchase DROP 300 bottles.
Lawful Personal Use
Allocated products purchased through Durham County ABC are intended for lawful personal use. The unauthorized resale of alcoholic beverages may violate North Carolina law and may be subject to enforcement by Alcohol Law Enforcement and other appropriate authorities.
